Reports have surfaced that newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester United have been encouraged in their pursuit of Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.
The 22 year old Chile international remains a top target for United boss Sir Alex Ferguson despite the crowded field bidding to sign him.
The Daily Mail has now reported that United are still hoping to pip Barcelona for Udinese winger Sanchez.
On his part, it is believed that Sanchez would prefer to play in Spain but Barca have yet to agree a fee and on Sunday night signed another right-sided midfielder, Kiko Femenia from Hercules.
